THE streets came alive with colour and joy today as the 30th annual Paulsgrove Carnival began.

Under bright sunshine, there was a party atmosphere as the participants prepared to leave King Richard School and parade to Hempstead Green.

Hundreds of people gathered on the green to enjoy live music, a children’s fun fair, stalls and refreshments.

Among the crowd was Tayshai Bernstein, 16, from Paulsgrove, who said: ‘I liked the children’s party.

‘This brings the community together’
