A TOUR that is calling for an end to violence against women and girls around the world is coming to Portsmouth.

The Fearless Women event is being run by international development charity ActionAid UK and will be at the Dennis Sciama Building at Portsmouth University on Wednesday, October 21 at 7pm.

The charity says that globally, one in three women will experience some form of sexual violence in their lifetime.

ActionAid UK is calling on the public to stand with women and girls to end violence and urging people in Portsmouth to join the campaign.

Caroline Jones, Women’s Rights Campaigner at ActionAid UK says: ‘Across the world women are fearlessly standing up and speaking out and we must join with them. But we cannot achieve global change without local action. That’s why we are urging the public to come along to our event in Portsmouth and show their support.’

Go to the Fearless webpage or ring Elizabeth Baines at ActionAid UK on 020 3122 0759 to book a ticket.
