The Bishop’s Palace Gardens are leased by the Bishop to the council, which manages and maintains them for residents and visitors.
Councillor Roger Barrow, cabinet member for environment at Chichester District Council, said: ‘Bishop’s Palace Gardens are a wonderful place to visit, and I very much enjoy spending time in this hidden gem.
‘I am delighted that visitors have recognised all the hard work put into making it such a special place. I hope many more people will discover the gardens this summer and enjoy a picnic with family and friends or simply spend time relaxing on their work lunch breaks.’
