THE trust which preserves the history of a seaside town is looking for a new co-ordinator to put together exhibitions and look after artefacts.

The voluntary role at Emsworth Maritime and Historical Trust begins in June at Emsworth Museum, in North Street.

Dorothy Bone, secretary of the trust, said: ‘The successful candidate must have an enthusiasm for working in an environment of a wholly volunteer-run organisation entirely funded by donations, subscriptions and grants.

‘They will be responsible for recording and caring for the museum’s artefacts representing Emsworth’s unique cultural heritage for the education, benefit and enjoyment of present and future members of the public of all ages.

‘They should be an inspirational person with an interest in local history, a good communicator and someone who would enjoy working as part of the team responsible for running a small independent museum.’

The deadline is Saturday. Email dorothybone@btinternet.com for details.
