Have your say

THE fight against dementia needs you – so say organisers of a charity walk planned for Portsmouth.

The Alzheimer’s Society has called for volunteers to help run a Memory Walk event to support an estimated 2,220 people living with dementia in the city.

Volunteer roles include route marshalling, stall holding, registering walkers and even giving out medals at the end of the day.

Alzheimer’s Society community fundraiser Natalie Bettinson said: ‘Without volunteers we wouldn’t be able to hold our Portsmouth Memory Walk.

‘Volunteers are integral in organising and planning the walk as well as helping on the day.

‘It’s also a great way to meet new people and learn new skills, plus it’s a fantastic day out.’

The walk will take place on Saturday, September 27 at 11am and start from Castle Field in Southsea.
