FOUR-FOOTED friends will be invited to join their owners on the sixth annual Wag Walk at the Stubbington Ark animal shelter.

Last year’s sponsored dog walk raised more than £5,000 for the charity.

Maggie Farmer, a previous participant from Gosport, said: ‘I own two lovely greyhounds, both rescued from the Ark. The Wag Walk is a fantastic idea, not only does it raise money for the shelter but it’s great exercise for the dogs and me too.

Steve Baxter, operations manager at the Ark added: ‘The route is just under six and a half miles long and takes in some really great views.

‘There is always a great atmosphere amongst the dog owners and their animals on the day. People of all ages take part.’

The Wag Walk Shield, a complimentary meal for two and doggy treats will be awarded to the person who raises the most sponsorship.

It takes place on May 1 from 10.30am. Sponsorship forms are available from the Ark in Ranvilles Lane, Stubbington, or on 01329 666916.
