She will view a demonstration by the ship’s medical team and meet members of the crew.

Meanwhile, Prince Charles is on board the Type 45 destroyer HMS Dragon, to tour the ship and meet her ship’s company.

As reported in The News, the crew of HMS Dragon have recently returned from a lengthy deployment to the Middle East on counter-piracy and maritime security patrols.

Those on board HMS Illustrious also recently returned from a deployment, one which was unexpectedly lengthened when they were called to provide humanitarian aid in the Philippines following Typhoon Haiyan.

The Duchess of Cornwall was appointed to the role of Commodore-in-Chief of Royal Naval Medical Services in 2006 by the Queen.
