THIS seagull had a lucky escape after getting caught up in fishing line.

Kind-hearted Marcin Jedrysiak and his wife Martha were out cycling at Farlington Marshes yesterday when they spotted the stricken bird.

So Marcin sprang into action and set about trying to free it.

He said: ‘It was attached to the fishing wire and that was caught up with some metal.

‘I tried to catch him to get it off but he was scared. Then I found a piece of glass nearby and I cut the fishing line off.

‘We both like wildlife, so it was great to see the bird fly off.’
