SLANEY Hopkins is inspired by her mum to take on the Great South Run on Sunday to raise vital funds for the Stroke Association.

The 24-year-old, of South Harting, near Chichester, decided to run for the charity after her mum Caroline, 46, had a devastating stroke in September 2013, leaving her unable to walk or talk for months.

Slaney said: ‘With help from the charity Stroke Association, mum taught herself how to do everything again using her left hand.’
