THE ancient art of woodturning will be on display at an open weekend.

The public will get the chance to try their hand at making a pen at the Forest of Bere Woodturners Association’s event.

On display will be items turned by members of the association.

There will also be an interclub competition between four clubs.

It takes place at the St John Ambulance headquarters in Fraser Road, Bedhampton over May 11 and 12.

Throughout the year members turn items which are donated to chosen charities which this year are Macmillan Cancer Support, Hampshire Air Ambulance and the Rocky Appeal. Doors open 10am to 4pm.
