RESIDENTS in Denmead and Lovedean will soon see contractors working on the overhead power lines in the area.

The National Grid is refurbishing the pylons and the cables between its substations in Botley Wood and Lovedean.

Vegetation around the pylons is being cut back and temporary access paths installed. The work is expected to last until the autumn. Overhead cables are being replaced and maintenance carried out on the pylons.

There will be increased activity around the pylons, some scaffolding may be erected and some public footpaths may be closed.

A spokesman for the National Grid said: ‘We’re sorry for any inconvenience this essential work may cause.

‘We will make every effort to complete the project as quickly and considerately as possible.’
