SHERLOCK Holmes and Henry VIII are not who you usually expect to see out in Locks Heath.

But that’s exactly what visitors there saw when performers from Titchfield Festival Theatre went out promoting their forthcoming productions and tried to recruit new members.

The actor were dressed in vibrant costumes, to show onlookers what their next seven plays will entail.

Georgie Gulliford, from theatre said: ‘It was fantastic to engage with the people and hear that they are keen to support local events.’

Additional costumes and props were available for visitors to experience along with a seaside painted ‘face in a hole’.

Ian Goodridge, centre manager of Locks Heath said: ‘It was great to see the amazing costumes and actors visiting us here at Locks Heath.

‘We pride ourselves on being the heart of the community.’
