Plans for manor to go on display

AN open day will show what lies in store for Portsmouth’s oldest house Wymering Manor.

The event will showcase the findings of an appraisal carried out by the Goddard Partnership, a group of conservation architects and surveyors.

It was carried out to establish what restoration work needs to be done on the manor and show what the historic building could be used for in the future.

Wymering Manor trustee Andrew Mason said plans and designs by University of Portsmouth conversation students would also go on show.

Mr Mason said: ‘We’ll put on an exhibition and there will be people available to talk to about our plans for the future’.

Wymering Manor Trust took control of the building in January 2013 and received a grant to restore the manor.

Restoration work is being done by volunteers.

The open day takes place on Monday, May 26 from midday to 4pm. For more information e-mail office@wymeringmanortrust.com.
