UNUSED presents, toys and games are being collected by a storage firm as part of a gift appeal.

The Portsmouth Access Self Storage branch in Regent Street, Landport, is collecting toy donations for children on behalf of Southampton General Hospital’s Red and White Appeal.

The campaign aims to raise £2.2 million to create a specialist treatment centre for patients with leukaemia and other blood disorders across Hampshire.

A special drop off point has been created, where donations will be collected, sorted and delivered to children in the area.

Kevin Pratt, from the firm, said: ‘We’re delighted to be running the appeal and are eager to encourage locals to show their support and donate their unused gifts at our drop off points.

‘Christmas is a time of year to enjoy and we hope to put a smile on the faces of local children who are not as fortunate as others.’
