A LIGHT dusting of snow covered Portsmouth and its surrounding areas last night.

Snow fell from 8pm until midnight as temperatures across the region dropped to 1C (33.8F)

Earlier this morning Hampshire County Council began salting minor roads and community routes for the second day in a row.

But weather forecasters from the met office say more snow is unlikely and warmer temperatures are expected at the weekend.

The News are a funny bunch, you contact them asking if they will send a reporter and photographer to an event in the community they say they will turn up and don't! Yet they are happy to ask for photo's of non-existant snow... they have the cheek to call themselves a 'Community Newspaper'.

YEP! BJ! I measured the deposits on my bins, while putting out the rubbish late last night. It covered my thumb joint, so I'm assuming a snowfall of around 30mm.......... WOW!............ I qucikly retired to the comfort of our multiburner!

Sorry to laugh at people, facebook comments about people taking a snow day today then this morning the look on their faces when the curtains were pulled back to reveal......nothing, would have been priceless.
