CONCERNS over the welfare of a man led to a major search.

A spokesman for Hampshire Police said the man, in his 40s, had been involved in a domestic incident at a property in Lutman Street, Emsworth, at around 5.30pm yesterday.

He left the property in a distressed state and, when he did not return, the police were called and began a search of the Havant area.

The force helicopter was called out and searched the shoreline, woodland and a cemetery but the man was located at around 9pm in Southleigh Park and taken home.

No arrests were made.
