Engineers begin ‘unique’ restoration project to preserve HMS Victory

A KEY witness to a motorway crash is being urged to come forward.

Police want to speak to the driver of a black Audi hatchback who saw a crash between a white Ford Transit van and a black VW Beetle on the M27 westbound carriageway near Rownhams Services.

The driver of the Focus, a 33-year-old man from Locks Heath, suffered whiplash injuries. No-one else was injured in the crash, which happened at about 10.15am on December 14.

PC Darrell Holmes, who is investigating the collision, said: 'The driver of the black Audi is a key witness to this incident but unfortunately they drove off before we could speak to them.

'It is imperative that we trace them as they should be able to provide a detailed account of exactly what led to these vehicles colliding with each other.

'If you are that driver of the black Audi or know who they are, we would ask you to contact us. We would also like to speak to anyone who was travelling along the M27 at that time who saw anything that will assist with the investigation.'

Anyone with information should call the Roads Policing Unit at Totton on 101.
