A MAN who fell from a ferry and was found washed up on Hayling Island beach a day later has been named by police.

Richard McMaster, of Northern Parade, Hilsea, Portsmouth, fell from the Fishbourne to Portsmouth Wight Link Ferry into Portsmouth Harbour at about 6.40pm on Sunday.

The 39-year-old’s body was found on Hayling Beach by dog walker Kevin Butler, 55, at about 2.45pm the following day near the Funland arcade.

Police are not treating his Mr McMaster’s death as suspicious.

A file is being prepared for the coroner.
