A COUNCIL has picked up an award for innovation.

Fareham Borough Council was handed a bronze award for Remodelling Local Services at the Improvement and Efficiency Awards. It launched a scheme called Vanguard to save cash.

The council has aimed to improve customer experience while saving £500,000 each year by changing the way people access services.

Leader Sean Woodward said: ‘Winning this award celebrates the hard work and effort put in to help provide excellent services.’
