THE MP for the Meon Valley is urging business and residents to be more cyber savvy to prevent the risk of internet attack.

George Hollingbery was speaking following the launch of the government’s Cyber Streetwise campaign designed to change the way people view online safety.

He said: ‘Cyber security is vital to the continuing wealth and prosperity for the country and it appears that cyber criminals have shifted their attention towards small and medium-sized businesses.

‘So these firms need to be extra vigilant and ensure their information and products are safe from hacking.

‘For individuals it’s also very important to protect their identity and accounts, so people should take simple steps to ensure they have robust software installed on their internet-enabled devices and complex passwords to protect their systems.’
