Brexit: Leigh Park fisherman welcomes leaving the EU

He said EU restrictions on fishing had brought companies like his to their knees.

He told The News: ‘Over the last three years we have lost 27 fishermen or fishing boats and we are down to two boats.

‘How can a company carry on like that?

‘We need to sort it out now.

‘What I would like to see is us have our fishing grounds back under our control so we can move forward.’
