A BRIDGE will shut for a week during work to sort out corrosion.

Gosport’s Millennium Bridge needs touching up as parts of it have suffered since it was built in early 2000.

The bridge connects Heritage Way to Weevil Lane and is a popular walking and cycling route.

Councillor Graham Burgess, chairman of the community board at Gosport council said: ‘Although the paint finish is generally still in good protective condition, there are some local areas of corrosion which need addressing.’

The work will happen in the week of Monday, September 9.
