MONEY could be spent on bringing international representatives over to attend Portsmouth’s mayor-making ceremony.

Councillor Hugh Mason, who is in charge of resources at the council, will make a decision with spokespersons Cllr Donna Jones and Cllr David Horne at a meeting on Thursday. They will consider whether and how much cash should be spent on hospitality, transport and accommodation for officials from Caen, Duisburg, Maizuru and Portsmouth, in Rhode Island.

The mayor-elect for the ceremony, on Monday, May 20, is Cllr Lynne Stagg and the deputy-elect is Anne Taulbut.
