BUSINESSES can have their say on how Portsmouth City Council should spend its money at a breakfast event.
The meeting is part of a series being held by the leader of the council Councillor Donna Jones, to discuss how it can make £31m of savings in the next three years.
The council is gathering views as it draws up its next budget, and is carrying out a five-week consultation.
Cllr Jones said: ‘We’ll have to make some difficult decisions as we set our 2016/17 budget.
‘We want to hear what the people of Portsmouth have to say before we make those decisions. I’d really encourage businesses in the city to take part in our consultation and tell us what they think.’
The event is on Thursday, October 1, at 8.30am at the Guildhall business lounge.
If people cannot make it to the breakfast morning then they can search ‘budget consultation’ at portsmouth.gov.uk and complete the survey online.
Or you can request a paper copy of the survey, by calling (023) 9243 7996. Completed surveys and any comments need to be received by the council by 9am on Monday, October 19.
Results of the survey will go on the council’s website during November. The budget will be decided at the December and February council meetings.
