PEOPLE are being invited to have their say on potential sites for development over the next two decades.

Winchester City Council, which covers Wickham, Bishop’s Waltham, Denmead and parts of Whiteley, is beginning work on the second part of its local plan – the document that sets out planning policy for the district through to 2031.

Local plan part two will allocate smaller sites for development and will only cover the part of the district outside the South Downs National Park.

Cllr Rob Humby, in charge of strategic planning matters, said: ‘Local plan part two is an important part of the local plan. The council will be working closely with local communities, especially in the larger settlements that have a housing target in local plan part one, to develop a plan that has strong local input and community support.’

The council wants to hear from people who would like to promote a site for homes.
