IMPROVEMENT works to pavements in Chichester city centre begin on January 9.

The West Sussex County Council scheme involves replacing damaged and uneven paving slabs.

Bollards will be repaired and footway draining channels will be cleaned out.

Access to shops will be maintained throughout the six-week scheme.
