AN AUTHORITY has been accredited for providing good customer service.

Winchester City Council retained its status, originally given in 2015, as an organisation that meets the national standard following an independent inspection in April.

An assessor met staff from a number of teams, reviewed recent consultations and met customers, including at a workshop with housing tenants.

Cllr Stephen Godfrey, council leader, said: ‘This is a rigorous national assessment which gives the council an MoT on its service. I’m delighted the council continues to meet the standard for customer service excellence.’

The council covers Denmead, Whiteley, Bishop’s Waltham and Wickham.
