NO increase in council tax has been agreed by Havant’s ruling politicians.

The Conservative cabinet agreed to freeze its share of council tax for another year – the fifth year of no tax increase.

As part of the budget for the next financial year, the cabinet also agreed to reduce parking charges at most council-run car parks.

Hourly fees are set to be reduced from £1 to 80p in some parts of the borough, including Leigh Park and Hayling.

Councillors will vote and make a final decision at a full council meeting on February 19.
