PORTSMOUTH’S Conservative group is continuing its battle to stop public toilet closures.

Councillors want businesses to sponsor loos which are being closed.

As previously reported in The News, the local authority has also closed ones in Marsden Road and another 10 will shut by the end of October. The move will save the council £200,000. Conservative group leader Cllr Donna Jones said: ‘I have approached First Bus about the toilets in Hilsea. I urge any business interested in sponsoring Portsmouth toilets to get in contact.’
