A CAR showroom’s expansion plan may be refused tonight.

A meeting of Gosport Borough Council’s regulatory board has been recommended to refuse the application from Fine Cars, at Elmore Road and Portsmouth Road, in Lee-on-the-Solent.

Planners say it will affect the residential area, due to industrial-style cladding.

The council report says the applicant, Howard Duke, has not shown how it would not create unacceptable levels of noise.

And the report adds the plans would mean a number of cars being moved at the site and that there is no justification to reduce the number of car parking spaces.

As reported, the firm was told it cannot move to the Daedalus enterprise zone.

Brett Duke, sales director, told The News the firm hopes it will be approved and will appeal if it is not.
