A COUNCIL has been praised for the way it runs its finances.

District auditor Patrick Jarvis highlighted East Hampshire District Council’s efficiency savings which have seen the authority share senior management with Havant Borough Council.

The councils share the same chief executive Sandy Hopkins and some senior managers.

Mr Jarvis said: ‘The council is performing well and is effective in managing its finances.

‘The council is achieving significant savings through its shared management arrangements with a neighbouring authority.’

Council leader Patrick Burridge added: ‘We are delighted with this very positive report which is full of praise for the council’s financial management.’
