VICTORIA Park in Portsmouth will host an open air event later this month to celebrate summer, and the city’s green schemes.

The Portsmouth Summer Fair and Picnic will take place at the park on Saturday, June 25, from 11am-4pm.

It will be free to enter, and will include a kids’ action area with games, rides, art and crafts, face painting, circus skills, hula hoops, bouncy castle, story-tellers, a solar challenge competition, a parade and competitions.

It will also feature local, organic and homegrown food and drinks, a café-bar and gallery, and a designated picnic area.

Entertainment comes from a pedal and solar-powered stage, with bands and DJs, street entertainers, a green motor show, a therapy area, poets, swing dancers, keep fit ideas, art and green crafts and technology displays, bushcraft skills sessions, and 100 stalls selling crafts and eco-gifts, plants, and green fashion,

There will be workshops on money saving, energy saving, and wildlife conservation.
