A PUBLIC inquiry into a controversial housing development has been put back.

Plans for a new 92-home housing estate in a field off Scratchface Lane, Bedhampton, were turned down by Havant Borough Council in May.

The main reason given was that the homes would be too close to the A3M motorway and it would be too noisy to expect people to live next to it.

Developer Crayfern Homes has appealed against the decision and a public inquiry will now be held on February 14, not January 17.
