THREE Ukip candidates for this year’s European elections met to discuss their European manifesto.
Around 50 people went to Titchfield Community Centre, Mill Street, on Thursday evening to hear from third on Ukip’s south-east list of European candidates Diane James, fourth Ray Finch and sixth Patricia Culligan.
The meeting was chaired by Bob Ingram, chairman of Fareham and Gosport Ukip.
Cllr Finch, group leader for Ukip on Hampshire County Council, encouraged people to vote for Ukip in the upcoming European elections.
He said: ‘What Ukip MEPs will do is tell you what’s going on there.
‘We’ll come back to this country and be knocking on doors, we will be going to radio, television, and the local press.’
He added: ‘If you vote for any other party what you will get essentially is a button-pressing monkey because they can’t do anything, if they tell you they can, they’re lying.’
Cllr James, an Eastleigh by-election candidate, said: ‘The view is that the level of Eurosceptic MEPs that will be returned at these elections will be so significant that they will start to have an impact on decisions.’
