FAREHAM’S MP has quizzed the prime minster over whether the UK can reform the amount that European migrants can claim in tax credits.

Suella Fernandes said EU migrants can claim up to £700 a month. She told the PM that Germany had undergone a reform which meant migrants there could not claim such welfare until they contributed, and asked whether the UK could follow suit. Mr Cameron didn’t answer the question but did say he was ‘convinced’ Europe could come to a ‘good answer’ and that the EU understood ‘how much’ needed to be done.
