Households in Fareham will soon be receiving a form asking residents to check their details for the electoral register.

The aim is to ensure the register is up to date and to identify any residents who are not registered so that they can be encouraged to do so.

With local elections and Police and Crime Commissioner elections taking place across Hampshire in May 2016, this is an opportunity for residents to make sure that when the elections take place they will easily be able to take part.

Peter Grimwood, electoral registration officer at Fareham Borough Council, said: ‘Anyone who has moved address recently should look out for the form and check whether they are registered.’

If residents wish to register, information can be sent explaining how to do this or apply at gov.uk/register-to-vote.

Any residents who have any questions can contact the elections team at electionservices@fareham.gov.uk
