FAREHAM has elected its new mayor for the coming year, councillor Susan Bayford.
In a ceremony at Ferneham Hall in Fareham this morning, cllr Bayford was unanimously elected by her colleagues on the council to take the role.
She is the 40th mayor of Fareham.
Cllr Bayford, who represents Locks Heath ward, will be fundraising through the coming year for three charities - The Rainbow Centre, for people with motor skills problems, the Naval and Royal Marines Charity and Tradissar, the disabled riding school.
Her consort for the year is her husband, cllr Brian Bayford.
Councillor David Norris was elected as this year’s deputy mayor.
