A COUNCILLOR has been elected deputy of a party at county level.

Ukip’s Cllr Chris Wood, who represents Fareham Crofton at Hampshire County Council, was made deputy leader of his party group.

He serves under Cllr Phillip Fawkes. Cllr Wood was elected to the council in 2012 and on to Fareham Borough Council in May.

He said: ‘I am delighted and honoured to take on the role and hope this will further enhance our ability to impact council policy for the good of the residents of Hampshire.’
