FINAL plans for a controversial housing estate look set to be approved.

There was fierce opposition to the 280-home Hampshire Farm Estate which straddles Emsworth and Westbourne, in West Sussex.

But an outline planning application for the development by Linden Homes was agreed by Havant Borough Council in May.

Now an application, which concerns the layout, type, appearance and scale of housing and the landscaping of homes and open spaces goes, before the planning committee tomorrow .

It has been recommended for approval by the council’s planning department.

Emsworth Residents’ Association will make a representation at the meeting which will take place at the Terrace Bar, Havant College, at 5pm.
