THE Mayor of Gosport is hosting a charity tea party.

Councillor John Beavis is running the event on Tuesday, July 9 at 2.30pm.

Entertainer Shep Woolley will join him and guests.

The ex-navy folk singer and comedian will talk about music and humour.

This is the first in a series of charity tea parties, supported by Morrisons, that Cllr Beavis has organised.

All cash raised will go to his chosen Mayoral charities.

They are Motiv8, Connect Advocacy and Learning to Sail, in Lee-on-the-Solent.

Cllr Beavis said: ‘I look forward to welcoming people to the charity tea party and I’m delighted that Shep Woolley will be entertaining us with ‘Music and Humour’.

‘I’m sure it will be an extremely enjoyable afternoon, while raising important funds for three very worthy local causes.’

It takes place in the Civic Wing of the Town Hall, in High Street, Gosport and costs £3 – call (023) 9254 5202 to book.
