TWO blocks of garages will be demolished to make way for housing.

Fareham Borough Council, in conjunction with Hampshire County Council, has agreed to buy the only two garages, of the 19 garages at Wynton Way, that are in private ownership.

Seven of the garages are currently let by the council to tenants and 10 are empty. The money will come from Fareham’s housing revenue account.

The authorities intend to demolish the garages and put around 11 houses on the land, subject to planning permission.
