PLANS for eight accommodation ‘pods’ near a golf course are set to be turned down by councillors.

Designs have been submitted to build the short-stay residential units off Ferry Road in the north-west corner of Hayling Golf Club.

The pods would be used by club members and would be raised off the ground.

But planning officers at Havant Borough Council have recommended councillors refuse the application at a meeting tomorrow.

Eighteen letters of objection have been received, including from the Langstone Harbour Board, which states the development ‘does not add a positive contribution to the landscape’.
