A TOP minister has cancelled a long-planned trip to Gosport.

Patrick McLoughlin MP, the transport minister, was due to arrive tomorrow afternoon.

But due to the spending review taking two days rather than one in parliament, he had to cancel his trip.

Mr McLoughlin had been invited by Gosport MP Caroline Dinenage, who wanted to show him the area’s traffic hotspots.

A potential Stubbington bypass was due to be high on the agenda. Plans for the road are out for consultation but funding is needed.
