HAMPSHIRE County Council and PA Argenti Telehealthcare Partnership have won an award for their technology supporting people to live independently.

They received the award at the national Local Government Chronicle Awards last week.

Telecare is a 24-hour personal emergency monitoring service which helps people to continue to live independently in their own home using wireless technology and environmental sensors.

Cllr Liz Fairhurst, the council’s executive member for adult social care said: ‘Telecare can have a huge impact on people’s lives by helping people manage their health and wellbeing, as well as helping lonely or isolated people connect with their communities.’
