Hampshire pensioner sends £55 bouquet of flowers to Larry the Downing Street cat

Pensioner Hazel Ross has shelled out £55 to send a '˜thank-you' bunch of flowers to Britain's best-known cat.

The 77-year-old from Warsash says whe wanted to show her affection to Larry the Downing Street cat.

Officials at No10 were reportedly stunned when the flowers were delivered amid the drama of David Cameron’s departure and the arrival of Theresa May as the UK’s new Prime Minister.

No10 says Larry, who is officially known as the chief mouser, will continue in his role under the new leader.

Mrs Ross said: ‘I’ve loved watching him on TV, sitting there as all the important people pass him and always wonder what he is thinking. I am a cat lover and I thought he needs to be recognised for the job he does.’
