Have your say on shaping the future of Havant and Bedhampton

PEOPLE in Havant and Bedhampton are being invited to a meeting to discuss future priorities for the area.

Residents are rallying round to create a community plan.

It comes as changes in the planning rules will mean some developers’ contributions must be spent on community projects.

The plan is being spearheaded by Havant and Bedhampton Community Network, with the support of Havant Borough Council.

Sally Brook, community development officer, explained: ‘Later this year, infrastructure contributions for new developments in Havant will be calculated using the council’s Community Infrastructure Levy Charging Schedule.

‘Decisions will need to be made on how to spend this income. A Community Plan would prioritise the spending of this income.

‘The plan is based on what local people think in order to make the changes to create an even better place to live, work, learn and volunteer.’

The open meeting takes place tomorrow between 6.30pm and 8.30pm at The Plaza.
