Have your voice heard on East Hants housing developments
SEVERAL major developments are planned across East Hampshire – and residents have the chance to have their say on what the area will look like over the next 16 years.
Fears have been raised over plans for hundreds of new homes in developments, including the Keydell Nursery site in Horndean, plans for the field above it and a potential development of 85 homes at James Copse in Lovedean.
East Hampshire District Council has spent six years putting together a Local Plan, which is a blueprint for how local development will be managed in the district until 2028.
Now that the work, carried out with the South Downs National Park Authority, is complete. The next step is to consult the public on it.
For six weeks, from February 3 until March 16, the Local Plan will be open for the public, planning experts and developers to view and make comments. Councillor Ken Moon, responsible for planning at the council said: ‘Many people will be keen to speak out on local site-specific development issues. This is not the right forum for those debates but there will be a chance to discuss those as part of the Site Allocations Plan in the future.’
Once the consultation period is over the Local Plan and representations will be examined by the government.
