A WOMAN has put in an appeal to be allowed to open her bathroom window.

Lynn Taylor, from Haven Crescent, Hill Head, has lodged the appeal after councillors upheld an original planning condition which prevents her from opening the window. The condition, along with one saying it should be obscured, was set when the two-storey extension was built in October 2010.

Chairman of the planning committee Cllr Nick Walker said: ‘When it is open they can see straight into the neighbour’s garden so we decided to stick to the original condition. It is not unusual.’

A recent planning application was put in to open the window by 5cm and refused at the Fareham Borough Council planning meeting.

The appeal will now go to an independent inspector, who could overturn the councillors’ decision.
