A HOUSING group has taken over the running of almost 600 homes in Gosport.

The Hyde Group housing association has acquired 581 properties across the town from the A2Dominion
Group.

The transfer deal, which was completed on Monday, includes a number of leasehold, social rent and shared ownership homes.

Both companies say they will work with residents to make sure there is a seamless transition.

Steve White, the chief executive of the Hyde Group said: ‘We’re delighted with the acquisition of these homes which complements our existing stock and supports the expansion of our operations in the Hampshire area.

‘This stock transfer will enable us to welcome new residents to the Hyde family, providing them with the very best in housing services, while at the same time supporting Hyde’s ambition to continue to grow as a business.’

The transfer of the 581 homes to the Hyde Group is part of a programme at A2Dominion which has seen 2,300 homes of theirs being transferred to other associations.

The firm says it wants to run its operation in a more efficient and cost-effective way.
