NOMINATE inspirational people for an award in a council-run scheme.

The closing date for nominations in Fareham Borough Council’s Citizen of Honour Awards is Friday.

There are three categories including: Young Citizen of the Year, four to 11 years, Young Citizen of the Year, 12 to 17 years and Citizen of Honour for adults.

The awards recognise people who go the extra mile, such as volunteers, carers, sports club leaders or helping the elderly.

Council leader Sean Woodward said: ‘These awards are the perfect opportunity for us to celebrate the unsung heroes of the borough.

‘It recognises those who have made a real difference to their community and I would encourage anyone who may know a local hero to nominate them for this worthy award.’

Winners will receive invitations to various events including a family ticket for the pantomime held in Ferneham Hall, Fareham.
